Meet Nicole Faccini!
Nicole is the assistant manager of Pet Groomerie’s West Palm Beach salon. 2.5 years ago she started her journey with Pet Groomerie in the Jupiter salon as a bather. She was drawn in by her love of animals and the opportunity to do something different. Since then, grooming and working for Pet Groomerie has become her passion. She has developed her skills and has grown from Bather, to Bathing Supervisor, Assistant Trimmer, Master Groomer and now Assistant Manager! 3 weeks ago she transferred from the Jupiter salon to the West Palm Beach salon. She loves when customers use her name and ask for her to groom their pets because it makes her proud of the work she has done.
How has the transition to the new Salon been?
It has been awesome! I love being more in control. I like being a leader, having responsibility for things and being looked up to by my coworkers. I feel very successful here.
Where is home when you’re not snipping away at Pet Groomerie?
I call Wellington, Florida home. My identical twin sister, Ashley, and her finance Mikey live with me and my Lilly bean, a 3.5 lb Yorkie. They have a 3-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer named Remy, and a Calico cat named Tuna.
What’s Lilly’s story?
I really wanted a puppy and did some research about small dogs. After that my heart was set on a teacup Yorkie. I found a licensed breeder who had a variety of puppies to choose from. I could have gone home with a puppy that day, but I fell in love with her cute little face. I had to wait 5 weeks to bring her home and it was the worst! They were the longest 5 weeks ever.
I had her for 2 weeks when I noticed something was off. She always jumped on my desk when I was working on schoolwork and she was just lying in my lap instead. Then I noticed her wheezing and having a hard time breathing. I rushed her to the vet. The vet said she had a bad case of pneumonia and her left lung was filling with fluid. She was put into an oxygen bubble for over a week and had to have a catheter put into her neck because her veins were so tiny – she weighed less than 1 pound. I was terrified! After 10 days she was able to come home. She made a full recovery! Now she’s 1.5 years old and is so loving and playful. She is a very happy puppy!
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
When people are reunited with their dogs, I love how happy both are.
Why do you like working at Pet Groomerie?
Because it’s helping animals and the environment is peaceful. It’s such a relaxing place. This is the only job I’ve really enjoyed. I love coming to work and not everyone can say that.
Where do you see yourself next?
I’d like to be manager of the West Palm Beach salon. Keep climbing up the ladder!
And what do you do to let loose and have fun?
I’m a movie buff. I’m down to watch anything. I like a variety. If I’m told it’s good, then I’ll watch it. I also enjoy boating, fishing and spending quality time with my family and friends.
